HPD (Humanitarian Programme Documentation) – Ongoing Project

Project Overview:

The Humanitarian Programme Documentation (HPD) project has been ongoing in Herat and Badghis provinces, focusing on the establishment of Child-Friendly Spaces (CFSs) and Community-Based Child Protection Committees (CBCPCs) to provide psycho-social support services to children in need.

CFS Progress:

As of the latest update, there are currently 48 Child-Friendly Spaces operating in the target areas, distributed as follows:

- Shindand: 10 CFSs

- Karokh: 14 CFSs

- Enjil: 2 CFSs

- Gozara: 2 CFSs

- Kohsan: 2 CFSs

- Qala e Naw: 11 CFSs

- Moqur: 7 CFSs

Psycho-Social Support Services:

We are pleased to report that a total of 4,800 children beneficiaries (2,000 boys and 2,800 girls) have received psycho-social support services through these 48 CFSs in Herat and Badghis provinces. Of these beneficiaries, 2,740 children have successfully graduated from the program after receiving three months of psycho-social support services through 42 CFSs, distributed across the districts of Shindand, Karokh, Qala e Naw, and Moqur.

Program Targets:

Our project's primary aim is to provide psycho-social support services to a total of 9,000 children (boys and girls) and manage 250 cases, referring them to War Child UK (WCUK) and relevant NGOs and governmental sectors by December 31, 2023.

As of now, we have reached 4,800 children beneficiaries, and we are in the process of enrolling an additional 1,500 children (boys and girls) into our CFSs starting from October 22, 2023. This will bring our total coverage to 6,300 children, nearing our end-of-year target.

Community-Based Child Protection Committees (CBCPCs):

To support our mission, we have successfully established 40 Community-Based Child Protection Committees in Herat and Badghis provinces, distributed as follows:

- Karokh: 12 CBCPCs

- Shindand: 10 CBCPCs

- Kohsan: 4 CBCPCs

- Moqur: 6 CBCPCs

- Qala e Naw: 8 CBCPCs

Upcoming Initiatives:

In the upcoming month of November 2023, we plan to implement 40 community dialogues, facilitated by volunteers, as part of our efforts to further engage with the local community.
